Information

Bella Gaffney’s show, ‘Reflections,’ offers a captivating blend of original compositions and traditional tunes that delve into both British folk and Americana, all viewed through the lens of the troubadour lifestyle.

As the recipient of the 2016 Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Award, Bella Gaffney is renowned for her folk-inspired songwriting and her unique arrangements of traditional pieces. In 2023, she unveiled her latest album, ‘Reflections,’ which draws inspiration from the connections forged during the lockdown period. Highlighting this release are her singles, ‘Fair and Tender Ladies’ and ‘Blood in the Earth,’ both featuring duets with Sam Kelly and Leesa Gentz (Hussy Hicks), and receiving widespread acclaim along with BBC radio airplay.
In addition to her solo work, Bella is a member of the folk band The Magpies, described as ‘effervescent’ by The Sunday Times. The Magpies have garnered praise both nationally and internationally, including a live session on BBC Radio 2 and hosting an annual sold-out festival.
Bella’s live shows are a tour-de-force in folk storytelling. Her shows will leave you with earworm melodies, foot-tapping rhythms and grinning from ear to ear from her off-beat brand of humour.
‘A compelling collection, whose charms grow with each listen.’ Americana UK
